ABSTRACT
The catfish hatchery training activity in Utaurano Village, Sangihe Islands Regency, aimed to improve community knowledge and skills in artificial catfish breeding techniques. The activity was conducted from 4 to 11 September 2024 and involved 30 participants from the Utaurano Village fish farming group. The training was carried out through three stages: preparation, implementation, and sustainability. The materials delivered included broodstock selection and management, artificial spawning techniques using Ovaprim hormone, larval and fry management, and feed management. The evaluation was conducted through surveys, interviews, and direct observation of participants’ involvement during the activity and their ability to practice the hatchery stages. The evaluation results showed that participants gained practical knowledge and skills in catfish breeding processes, particularly in broodstock selection, hormone injection, spawning, egg hatching, and larval rearing. This training indicates that technical assistance can serve as a community empowerment effort to introduce artificial catfish breeding technology. Further studies are needed to quantitatively measure the impact of the training on fry production and community income.

ABSTRAK
Kegiatan pelatihan pembenihan ikan lele di Kampung Utaurano, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam teknik pembenihan ikan lele secara buatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 4–11 September 2024 dengan melibatkan 30 peserta dari kelompok pembudidaya Kampung Utaurano. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan keberlanjutan. Materi yang diberikan meliputi pemilihan dan pengelolaan induk, teknik pemijahan buatan menggunakan hormon ovaprim, manajemen larva dan benih, serta manajemen pakan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui survei, wawancara, dan pengamatan langsung terhadap keterlibatan peserta selama kegiatan serta kemampuan peserta dalam mempraktikkan tahapan pembenihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta memperoleh pemahaman dan keterampilan praktis dalam proses pembenihan ikan lele, terutama pada tahap seleksi induk, penyuntikan hormon, pemijahan, penetasan telur, dan pemeliharaan larva. Pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan teknis dapat menjadi salah satu upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam mengenalkan teknologi pembenihan ikan lele secara buatan. Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan untuk mengukur dampak pelatihan terhadap peningkatan produksi benih dan pendapatan masyarakat secara kuantitatif.
