ABSTRACT
Community service (PkM) is an implementation of the higher education tridharma aimed at enhancing community capacity through the application of science and technology. This activity was conducted in Owi Village, East Biak District, Biak Numfor Regency, with a focus on improving digital literacy through Python programming training for junior high school students and the development of a village profile video as a digital promotional medium. The program involved 54 students from SMP Satu Atap Negeri 7 Biak Timur, consisting of 13 seventh-grade students, 21 eighth-grade students, and 20 ninth-grade students. A participatory approach was employed through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training was delivered using a hands-on learning method covering Python fundamentals, the print() function, variables, basic arithmetic operations, and conditional statements using if. Evaluation was conducted through observation, practical exercises, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions to assess participants’ understanding of the materials. The results showed that 38 students (70.37%) successfully understood the training materials and were able to complete the programming exercises provided. In addition, the program produced a village profile video documenting the tourism potential, cultural assets, and geographical characteristics of Owi Village as a digital promotional tool. Although the implementation faced challenges related to limited computer facilities and internet access, the program demonstrated that integrating programming education with digital media development can effectively enhance students’ digital literacy while supporting the sustainable promotion of local potential.
